Questions

Things you might
be wondering

A few honest answers to what most men ask before they apply.

What's the timeline for applying and joining?

  • Applications due August 17
  • Get-to-know you virtual calls between August 24 and September 2
  • Cohort finalized by September 9
  • Payment due September 14
  • First meeting October 5

What will I get out of this?

Honestly, it depends on what you bring to it. Our hope is that you come away with a clearer sense of where you are, what you want, and specific things you want to do differently. And that other men are dealing with similar challenges. When done right, groups can be transformative. That is our goal.

How is this different from just grabbing a beer with friends?

The difference is structure and intention. Most of us don't have many places where the honest version of things actually gets said. This is a dedicated space where going deeper is the whole point, with other men who have signed up for exactly that.

What if I've never done anything like this before?

Most of the men in the group probably haven't either. You don't need any particular background or experience. What matters is that you're ready to engage honestly with the other men in the room.

Is this therapy?

No. This is a facilitated conversation between peers. If you are experiencing moderate to acute mental health challenges and are not receiving therapeutic support, this group is not the right fit for you.

Is there pressure to share something in particular or at length?

Nobody's going to push you to share more than you want to. That said, the group works best when people share openly and honestly. You decide what that is for you.

What happens if I miss a session?

We ask that you check your availability carefully before applying. We're looking for people who can commit to all the sessions. We don't offer refunds or makeups for missed meetings, and consistent attendance is what makes the group work for everyone.

What happens after the first six meetings?

As we approach the sixth meeting, we will engage the group in a conversation about phase 2. Provided there is enough interest in the group, we will offer a second series of meetings as a continuation of this cohort.

What is the refund policy?

We don't offer refunds, so please make sure the dates work before you apply.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Please reach out. We are committed to making the group as accessible as possible for those who want to attend.

Is there a virtual option?

Not at this time. The group meets in-person, and we think that matters for the kind of conversations we're trying to have.

Where will the group take place?

In a location in San Francisco, to be disclosed upon payment remittal.
